Abstract
This work's main purpose is to investigate the impact of Coþ2 substitution by Mgþ2 on the structural, morphological
and magnetic properties of Co0.4Zn0.6Fe2O4 ferrite which synthesized by microwave-assisted combustion method. The
structural, morphological and magnetic properties of the synthesized samples are investigated by X-ray diffraction field
emission-scanning electron microscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry. Phase impurity the formation of phase
cubic spinel structure is confirmed with a crystilite size increased from 22.5048 nm to 22.5896 nm when Co2þ ions are
replaced by Mg2þ ions. FE-SEM image exhibits reveals that the particles in nanoscale. There are agglomerated with
porosity and very high surface energy. The magnetic mesurments showed that the saturation magnetization was found
to decreace from (70.20emu/g to 58.36) with values of the coercivity (500 Oe to 250 Oe)when Co2þ ions are replaced by
Mg2þ ions which means that the samples are a soft ferrites.
